Natural Adjuvant for Pest and Disease Control
Sarawak’s hot, rainy and humid climate can easily lead to pest problems involving whiteflies, aphids, thrips and red spider mites. Frequent rainfall can also wash away pesticide solutions, resulting in repeated applications and increased costs. To address local climate conditions, Advansia has introduced LAKOTA, a natural wintergreen essential oil adjuvant designed to improve crop protection effectiveness.
Leaf surfaces usually have a natural waxy layer, especially on the undersides of leaves, tender shoots, petioles and overlapping leaf areas. Conventional spray solutions may have difficulty achieving complete coverage. By combining the penetration and adhesion properties of natural wintergreen essential oil, LAKOTA helps address the main challenges faced by leafy vegetable growers in Sarawak.
Strong Penetration
LAKOTA’s strong adhesion and rainfastness properties help reduce the surface tension of spray solutions, allowing them to spread quickly and adhere firmly to both sides of the leaves. At the same time, it helps insecticide and miticide ingredients penetrate the waxy layer of leaf surfaces more effectively, improving the ability of spray solutions to reach areas where pests are hidden.
In addition, LAKOTA can be mixed with conventional insecticides or miticides to provide a synergistic effect, improving control performance against major pests such as whiteflies, aphids, thrips and red spider mites.
Reducing Pesticide Use and Improving Efficiency
LAKOTA is available in a 500ml bottle. For leafy vegetable cultivation, the recommended application is to mix 10–15ml of LAKOTA with 10 litres of water and commonly used pesticides, then spray evenly onto the leaves.
For routine preventive application, spraying once every 7–10 days is recommended. After the rainy season or during pest outbreaks, the dosage can be increased to 15ml per 10 litres of water to strengthen pest control.
With LAKOTA’s natural wintergreen essential oil formulation, vegetable growers in Sarawak can improve pesticide utilisation efficiency, reduce the costs associated with repeated spraying, and support the development of more efficient, high-quality and environmentally friendly leafy vegetable production.
At Advansia, we continue to focus on practical, field-tested solutions that match the real conditions faced by Malaysian growers. Whether the need is better flower retention, stronger fruit development, or more reliable disease control, timely action and suitable crop strategies remain key to achieving more stable results in the field.
